    Direct answer

Language support shaped around how the student needs to communicate

Bespoke Learning provides one-to-one online language support, with established services in English and French. The goal may be stronger academic writing, more confident speaking, better listening comprehension, or the foundational language needed to access another school subject.

This is broader than preparing for one examination. The educator identifies where communication is breaking down, then builds purposeful practice around the student’s level, interests, school context, and immediate needs.

    Course-aware support

Choose subject tutoring or broader language development

Students following a specific IB or AP course can use our dedicated English and French pages. This service is the better starting point for foundational, cross-curricular, or transition support.

    Academic English

Develop the language used to follow lessons, read complex material, and communicate knowledge at school.

    • Vocabulary in context and sentence control
    • Reading for meaning, structure, and inference
    • Paragraphs, explanations, and discussion skills

    French language development

Build usable French through balanced work across receptive and productive skills.

    • Speaking confidence and pronunciation
    • Listening and reading strategies
    • Grammar used within meaningful communication

    School transition support

Help students adjust to a new language of instruction or a more demanding academic environment.

    • Course and classroom language
    • Strategies for asking questions and clarifying meaning
    • Preparation for presentations and written tasks

What students practise in language lessons

    Comprehension

Listen and read for main meaning, supporting detail, inference, and the organization of ideas.

    Expression

Build clear spoken and written responses with vocabulary and grammar appropriate to the situation.

    Interaction

Ask for clarification, respond naturally, sustain a discussion, and repair communication when needed.

    Independence

Use dictionaries, notes, feedback, and revision strategies effectively outside the lesson.

A good fit for students who…

    • are learning in English or French and need stronger academic foundations
    • understand more than they can confidently say or write
    • are moving school, country, programme, or language of instruction
    • need broader language development rather than only exam coaching

    Our approach

From uncertainty to an independent next step

The exact lesson changes by student. The underlying process stays clear, practical, and accountable.

    1. 01

      Diagnose the gap

The educator reviews the course, recent work, and the student’s own explanation of what feels difficult before choosing a starting point.

    2. 02

      Model, practise, explain

The lesson combines a clear model with guided practice. Students then explain or apply the method themselves so understanding is visible.

    3. 03

      Leave with a next step

Each session closes with a focused action: a short practice set, revision priority, draft improvement, or plan for the next lesson.

    Which languages do you support?+

Bespoke Learning has established support in English and French. Availability for any additional language depends on the right educator match and should be confirmed before booking.

Is this only for IB and AP students?+

No. Language support can help international and secondary-school students more broadly. Students in a specific IB or AP language course can also use the dedicated subject service.

Can lessons focus on academic English?+

Yes. Support can target reading complex instructions, subject vocabulary, explanations, paragraphs, presentations, and the language used to participate in lessons.

    Will lessons include speaking practice?+

Yes when speaking is part of the goal. One-to-one lessons create space for guided conversation, pronunciation feedback, clarification strategies, and repeated practice.

How is the starting level decided?+

The educator uses the free conversation, school context, a sample of work, and early lesson tasks to identify strengths and the most useful next target.
