IB & AP Exam Prep Built Around the Gaps That Matter

A focused sequence of diagnosis, teaching, retrieval, exam-format practice, and reflection—using the student’s exact course, level, cohort, and time remaining.

    • Current course and cohort
    • Timed, diagnostic practice
    • Languages, humanities and available subjects

    Not a generic revision calendar

We start with evidence from the student’s work and the current specification, then prioritize what can still change before exam day.

    Direct answer

What does effective IB and AP exam prep include?

Effective exam preparation is a feedback loop. A student attempts a carefully chosen task, the educator identifies the knowledge or response habit limiting performance, the student receives focused teaching and guided practice, and then applies the change in a new question under more realistic conditions.

Bespoke Learning currently focuses on IB and AP courses that match available educator expertise, especially languages, English, humanities, economics, business, and the IB core. Subject availability varies. IB maths and sciences remain separate coming-soon services rather than being implied here.

    Course-aware support

    A repeatable exam-preparation cycle

The exact questions vary by subject, but students benefit from the same disciplined movement from evidence to targeted action.

    Diagnose

Use recent school work, course-aligned questions, and the student’s explanation to locate the highest-value gaps.

    • Separate knowledge gaps from exam-technique problems
    • Identify recurring command-term and time-allocation errors
    • Choose priorities using time remaining and assessment weighting

    Teach and practise

Rebuild the missing concept or response method, then apply it through progressively less guided practice.

    • Retrieval and interleaving for durable recall
    • Worked examples and deliberate practice for weak response moves
    • Current exam format, permitted tools, and digital environment where relevant

    Simulate and reflect

Use timed tasks and full papers selectively, then turn every attempt into a specific improvement decision.

    • Plan, write, check, and submit under realistic constraints
    • Compare the response to current criteria or official scoring guidance
    • Maintain an error log and revise the plan from new evidence

    What improves before exam day

    Recall under pressure

Retrieve relevant knowledge without relying on recognition or last-minute rereading.

    Question judgment

Recognize the command, scope, weighting, and evidence the task actually demands.

    Time control

Allocate time, plan efficiently, and finish with enough space to check or refine.

    Error correction

Turn mistakes into categories and deliberate practice instead of repeating more of the same.

A good fit for students who…

    • have completed content but do not yet perform consistently in timed conditions
    • need help deciding what to prioritize with limited weeks remaining
    • repeat the same response errors without a clear correction method
    • want a plan grounded in their exact IB or AP course rather than generic advice

    Our approach

From uncertainty to an independent next step

The exact lesson changes by student. The underlying process stays clear, practical, and accountable.

    1. 01

    2. 02

      Run the feedback loop

Cycle through targeted teaching, retrieval, response practice, marking evidence, and correction at the right level of difficulty.

    3. 03

      Taper toward performance

Increase realism, protect rest and routines, and arrive with a short list of trusted strategies instead of a growing pile of notes.

Which exam subjects do you support?+

Support depends on current educator availability and course fit. Our strongest live coverage is in languages, English, humanities, economics, business, and the IB core. Tell us the exact IB or AP course, level, and exam date before assuming availability.

Do you currently offer IB maths and science exam prep?+

IB maths and science tutoring is marked as coming soon on the relevant service pages. We do not present those subjects as part of the currently available exam-prep offer. Families can register interest for a specific IB subject and level.

How early should exam preparation start?+

Earlier gives more time to rebuild knowledge and practise transfer, but a short targeted plan can still help. The first step is to diagnose what can realistically improve in the time remaining.

Do IB grade boundaries stay the same every year?+

No. Students should not rely on a fixed raw-score conversion across sessions. Preparation should target the published assessment demands and the quality of the response, not a promised boundary.

    Are AP exams digital?+

Many AP exams are administered digitally or in hybrid form, and formats can change. We verify the current College Board page for the student’s subject and exam year before planning practice.

Can you guarantee a score increase?+

No. Results depend on the student’s starting point, work, time, course, and exam-day performance. We can provide a focused process, relevant practice, and evidence-based adjustments, but not a guaranteed grade.
